Share your good health by donating blood quarterly at our parish. (Must be age 16 or older and weigh a minimum of 110 lbs.)
St. Matthew’s has hosted multiple blood drives annually, since our founding, as a vital community outreach. By regularly sharing our “Gift of Life” with patients in need, we give the very best that is in us to people whose lives depend on our priceless gift of blood donations. Blood donors are “Good Samaritans” who take the time to give others a lifeline because they are in need and we have the ‘renewable resources’ to help them. This truly reflects another aspect of Christian stewardship by giving of our time, talent, and treasure doing volunteer work while lying down!
If you are interested in being a part of this lifesaving ministry please check the bulletin for upcoming blood drive dates and make a date to donate. If you have any questions, please call Dan Eberts at (727) 393-0805.

Help feed the residents of Pinellas Hope, a temporary emergency housing ministry of Catholic Charities and the Diocese of St. Petersburg. We cook and serve meals for the residents on a monthly basis. We meet at 12:30 on the first Sunday of the month to prep the meal, then the group that will serve meets here at 4:15 to drive over together. We are usually back at St. Matthew by 6:00pm.
We always need fruit and handheld desserts. Please drop off desserts and fruits in the church kitchen on the first Sunday of the month.
See the online calendar for the next dates or contact Deacon Tony or the parish office for more information at (727) 393-1288.

The St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) team is a group of dedicated, caring individuals who are devoted to helping those in need who are church members or who live within our parish boundaries. Our clients come to us because of their need to get their financial footing back on solid ground. This temporary helping hand enables families to bring their bills up to date, put food on the table, and clothe their children. We also provide beds or other furnishings when there is a need. Assistance is made possible through the generous support of our parish family.
Our team members monitor the SVDP helpline (727-592-1960) every day of the week. We make a home visit to each client to determine how to best meet their needs. We also offer referrals to other community resources and offer spiritual support. As a team, we meet every other week and closely review each case in a confidential and caring manner.
In addition to monitoring the hotline on a daily basis, we have four major activities per year to further serve the needs of our clients. They include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and a Back to School Book Bag drive. These activities provide holiday meals, Christmas gifts, school supplies, and a new pair of shoes for children.
It is our goal to help our clients step from despair into hope. In many cases, just by helping to remove the pressure of a particular debt, our clients are able to return to financial stability and often stay there.
For more information or for financial assistance, call our helpline (727) 592-1960.
