The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has released a statement addressing any moral concerns regarding the development of a COVID-19 vaccine. The entire statement can be found on the USCCB website or by clicking the button below. Considering the questions raised, the bishops affirm that any potential moral concerns with the development of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are both remote and outweighed by “the gravity of the current pandemic and the lack of available alternative vaccines…”. Furthermore, the bishops insist that being vaccinated against COVID-19 should be viewed as “an act of love of our neighbor and a part of our moral responsibility for the common good…”.
