The Sacrament of Baptism celebrates God's love and initiates us into the community of believers called the Church. We are the Church, and each baptism we perform or witness is a sign of our faith in Christ's power to renew the face of the earth. 

• Baptisms are usually celebrated during the Mass, typically at the Mass you usually attend. Private baptisms are also available, at the Pastor's discretion.
• A meeting with our pastor is required.
• If you wish to have your child (over the age of seven) baptized, the pastor and Children's Faith Formation director will meet with you to determine how to best meet the needs of your child and family. 
• Adults seeking baptism will probably need to proceed through RCIA with the assumption that their baptism in the Catholic Church signifies their desire to become Catholic as well. This will not only prepare them for baptism, but Confirmation, First Eucharist, and First Reconciliation as well. They should discuss this with the pastor or RCIA Coordinator, Lisa Limberger.
• There is no cost for the baptism or baptism preparation materials.
• Sponsors (Godparents) do not need to take a class. We have an informative booklet for them.
• At least one Godparent needs to be a practicing Catholic over age 16. They must have received the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation and lead a life of faith compatible with the duty to be taken on.
• We can help you find Godparents if you don't have anyone available who meets the criteria. A baptized non-Catholic Christian can serve as a "Christian Witness" along with a Catholic godparent.

Sacramental Preparation is provided in conjunction with the Children's Faith Formation program. Typically two years of faith formation is expected prior to receiving a sacrament. Our program is structured so that most students receive first reconciliation and communion at the end of second grade.

For baptized teens who have received their First Holy Communion.  Sacramental Preparation is provided in conjunction with the Youth Ministry program. Typically two years of faith formation is expected prior to receiving a sacrament. Our program is structured so that most students receive Confirmation at the end of tenth grade. For adults who were baptized Catholic but not Confirmed, please contact the parish office.

Call the office at (727) 393-1288 a minimum of six months in advance. Fr. Jonathan Emery will schedule a time to meet with you. Participation in our diocese's "Journey to Matrimony" one-day marriage preparation program is required.

Hospitalized or in a nursing or rehab facility? Please ask the hospital staff to request a priest visit and they will contact the proper parish. The Catholic parish assigned to the hospital or facility will send a priest to visit you and administer the Sacrament.
