Society of St. Vincent DePaul
The St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) team is a group of dedicated, caring individuals who are devoted to helping those in need who are church members or live within our parish boundaries. Our clients come to us because of their need to get their financial footing back on solid ground. This temporary helping hand enables families to bring their bills up to date, put food on the table, and clothe their children. We also provide beds or other furnishings when there is a need. Assistance is made possible through the generous support of our parish family.
Our team members monitor the SVDP helpline (727-592-1960) every day of the week. We make a home visit to every client to determine how to best meet their needs. We also offer referrals to other community resources and offer spiritual support. As a team we meet every other week and closely review each case in a confidential and caring manner.
In addition to monitoring the hotline on a daily basis, we have four major activities per year to further serve the needs of our clients. They include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and a Back to School Book Bag drive. These activities provide holiday meals, Christmas gifts, school supplies, a new pair of shoes and a referral for a new school outfit.
It is our goal to help our clients step from despair into hope. In many cases, just by helping to remove the pressure of a particular debt, our clients are able to return to financial stability and often stay there.
